The Press Room

Set in the basement of Chicago’s historic Free Methodist Publishing House, The Press Room is an adaptive reuse wine bar that pairs the building’s original character with the energy of the West Loop. Siren Betty Design transformed the lower level into an intimate, club-like destination layered with velvet seating, Persian rugs, a hand-painted mural, and a glowing vintage cooler.

Salvaged materials from the former publishing house were reimagined throughout the interior. Velvet-tufted benches line a custom mural and tile wall, while plants along the window sills soften the room and bring life to the lower level.

The 70-seat wine bar offers several ways to gather, from a long communal table and open kitchen dining room to a private tasting room for more focused pours. The result is a welcoming neighborhood destination that preserves the history of The Publishing House while giving it a new purpose.
