Leeds Public House
Leeds Public House in Michigan City, designed by Siren Betty Design, preserves the character of the area’s first hospital while transforming it into a welcoming neighborhood restaurant. Classic finishes, vintage details, and warm textures create a timeless atmosphere that feels both familiar and authentically rooted in local history.
Michigan City’s historic charm served as the foundation for the redesign of Leeds Public House. The 116-year-old building once operated as the area’s first hospital, so honoring its past was essential. The design blends history with approachability, using natural materials and classic details to create a lived-in, welcoming atmosphere. Weathered wood, patinated metals, and layered textures evoke a sense of timelessness, while generous windows and a spacious patio connect the interior to the outdoors. A large dining room accommodates families and gatherings of all sizes, emphasizing community and comfort. Every design choice balances nostalgia and modern function, reflecting Siren Betty Design’s thoughtful approach to transforming historic spaces into warm, inviting destinations.
