The Hi-Lo
The Hi-Lo in Chicago’s Humboldt Park, designed by Siren Betty Design, is a neighborhood cocktail bar that blends sophistication with ease. The concept reflects the duality of its setting, housed within both a three-story 1898 building and an adjacent A-frame, creating a space that feels equally refined and familiar.
Siren Betty Design drew inspiration from the history and cultural layers of Humboldt Park to shape The Hi-Lo’s atmosphere. The bar’s design captures the neighborhood’s evolution, from its early European roots to its current Hispanic influence, through a palette of oxidized copper green, terra cotta brick, and gray stone. Patterns, upholstery, and furniture forms reference different eras, yet come together seamlessly to create a warm, lived-in feel. A cocktail bar that is both luxe and casual, polished and unpretentious, offering guests a setting that feels timeless, comfortable, and entirely at home in its neighborhood.
