Florian

The Florian in Chicago, designed by Siren Betty Design, reimagines the classic supper club on the third floor of the Lyric Opera House. Inspired by decades of performance history, the space balances theatrical color, rich texture, and nostalgic detail for a dining experience that feels both glamorous and intimate.

Siren Betty Design drew from the Lyric Opera’s extensive archives of playbills, costumes, and stage sets to shape Florian’s art, palette, and textures. Drapery and tassels were inspired by the gown Maria Callas wore during her American debut in 1954, while lighting and fabrics reflect the grandeur of classic theater. A digital installation created in collaboration with projection artists Visual Feeder showcases archival film of the Joffrey Ballet, merging heritage with modern innovation. With its focus on prime rib, classic cocktails, and curated wines, The Florian pays homage to the golden era of supper clubs while offering a contemporary dining experience steeped in Chicago’s cultural legacy.
