Common Decency

Common Decency in Chicago, designed by Siren Betty Design, channels the drama and glamour of the 1980s through bold geometry, vibrant color, and sculptural form. Inspired by Patrick Nagel, Memphis Milano design, and the cinematic flair of Miami Vice, the restaurant blends retro energy with modern sophistication to create a playful and polished dining experience.

Every part of the space reflects a careful balance between drama and comfort. The design takes cues from art, music, and fashion of the era while avoiding nostalgia. The restaurant features four areas: the main dining room, two private dining spaces, and an enclosed patio, each unified by color, pattern, and light. Oversized sculptural fixtures pair with subtle, indirect illumination to bring depth and energy to the interiors. A mix of seating styles invites guests to settle in comfortably, whether for intimate dining or lively conversation. Every element feels intentional and expressive, celebrating individuality and creativity. The result is a dining environment that reflects Siren Betty Design’s distinctive approach to crafting spaces that are daring, cohesive, and full of character.
