108 N. May St. Chicago, IL

The Publishing House is the West Loop’s first and only Bed and Breakfast, located inside the Historic Free Methodist Publishing House. We wanted this bed and breakfast to reflect the surrounding area and to stand out from the quintessential idea of a B&B, without straying from a cozy and homelike experience. In order to achieve our desired design aesthetic, we mixed vintage and modern through reupholstering furniture, rugs and tiles. As a collaborative effort with the owners, we utilized accessories and furniture found at flea markets and thrift stores around the country. Each of the 11-en suite rooms are inspired by Chicago literary references. The comfortable common space mixes cozy and elegent, with a double-sided fireplace and a baby grand piano.
