This month the Australian International Furniture Fair will be taking place in Melbourne. AIFF is the largest and longest running furniture buying event in the country. Co-located with Design+Decor the event brought in 11,500 visitors last year to see the 330+ exhibitors. The fair features “Trend Tours” as well as AIFF Loves Handmade, where Australian makers have space to be celebrated and grow. Here are our picks of the booths we’d be perusing if we were there!
This company provides it’s buyers with luxury well-being and relaxation by producing all of their items in Italy. Each piece is anti-static, non-toxic, and 100% recyclable. Their specialty is outdoor living, but we love the simplicity of their items. The pieces’ minimalist appearance makes it appealing and not overpowering to the eye and it can easily transition between spaces. We love how the Net Relax chairs and the Alloro 210 table look sitting by the water but it’d fit perfectly in any outdoor dining space.
Stepping away from furniture for a moment... because BSG Glass has captured our curiosity. The structures made by this company can change or elevate the mood of a space instantly. Their many glass types have varying advantages like reducing the heat in a building or giving a look that emulates fabric in an interior space. We’re big fans of the treated glass that gives off a pattern or color like the ones shown above.
This company’s fun and festive pieces bring vibrancy and a global look to any space they’re in. With their newest A/W ‘18 collection, we can see a switch to a simpler and more muted look. While the throw blankets and pillows still add dimension their toned down hues keep a feeling of luxury. We love founder, Sarah Quin’s strong attraction to travel and the clear inspiration in all her design decisions.
