838 W. Randolph, Chicago
For this modern American spot along Chicago's Restaurant Row, we sought a vibe of comfortable elegance. We found that vibe with crystal and feather chandeliers hung from rustic wood ceilings, plush booths and chairs clad in bold patterned upholstery, cheeky art pieces and an stunning Italian marble bar.
For the private dining room, we drew inspiration from the members-only night clubs of 1960s Paris. The geometric shapes - the layered chrome disc pendant lights, black and white striped mosaic marble floor, and giraffe-print wallcovering - contrast with traditional French elements like sumptuous upholstery, lacquered wainscoting, and gilded detail. Thick velvet drapes dampen the sound from the main dining rooms and invite intimate conversation.
